Property Description

Far from the madding crowd - A charming detached cottage set in 2 acres surrounded by, and with direct access to Exmoor.

SITUATION AND AMENITIES
If you want to be remote, but not isolated, have no near neighbours and have direct access to Exmoor, then look no further. Woolhanger Lodge is situated towards the end of a private 'no through' country lane, literally surrounded by Exmoor, which allows access to many miles of footpaths, and for those interested in equestrian pursuits, there are also bridleways over farmland, or country tracks, which lead to riding on the open moor, without the need to hack on public highways. The nearest facilities are at Parracombe village, about 2 miles, and which offers general store / Post Office, period inn / restaurant, primary school and ancient parish church. Further a field, about 4 miles distant, are the twin coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, on the dramatic North Devon coastline and offering a wider range of facilities. Barnstaple, the regional centre, is about 17 miles, and houses the areas main business, commercial, entertainment and shopping venues. The town is also well known for its exclusive range of outlets, including all of the high street favourites, as well as a diverse selection of local stores. The town's Pannier Market dates back to Saxon times, and trades in general foods, goods and local crafts. From Barnstaple and South Molton, there is direct access onto the A361 North Devon Link Road, which connects directly through to Junction 27 of the M5, to the west side of Tiverton, where there is also the Parkway Railway Station, from where journey times to London / Paddington are approximately 2 hours. Less than half an hour away by car are the safe sandy surfing beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe.
